Case Study: Jon Hunt aka The Flying Reporter

Pilot, reporter, podcaster, videographer and You Tuber Jon Hunt wanted images that demonstrated his work and passion, reporting and light aircraft.

Jon is well known for his work as as a BBC reporter. since leaving the BBC started a hugely successful you tube channel: The Flying Reporter and recently embarked on an equally successful podcast - also called The Flying Report....you can find his work via this LINK.

I met with Jon at Biggin Hill aerodrome one early morning. It was here that I captured some initial shots of him doing the various safety checks on his Piper plane.

From their we flew to Cambridgeshire where is was due at the HQ of Sling aircraft do shoot some interviews and drone footage.

Jon is an experienced pilot and also teaches others to become pilots. He told me that he was a late starter into the world of flying.

Some of his friends were getting their pilot's license, and after talking to them and seeing their passion, he soon caught the bug.

This naturally led to him getting his own pilot's license, purchasing his own plane, with help from some sponsors and it seemed inevitable that he should start a you tube channel.

Drawing on his 30 plus years as an investigative journalist for the BBC, Jon began interviewing people during his flights. His plane is kitted out with go-pro video camera to make the video experience easy.

Jon undertakes all the production of his work, from filming, interviewing, editing and overall production.

During our trip, Jon also took the chance to interview me.
