Band Photography in Tunbridge Wells: Grit, Guts, and Album Covers with Kharma and the Devil
If you're a band looking for branding photography that captures your sound, and your story, this shoot is the perfect example of what we can create together.
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with Kharma and the Devil, a local Tunbridge Wells band you might have seen at LIVE and Local. After years of playing covers, they made the bold decision to write and record their own original music, and they didn’t expect to love the process as much as they did.
With their songs recorded in a professional studio and a stunning album cover (designed by the lead singer, who’s also a talented graphic designer), all they needed next were images that matched the energy of their new sound.
The Brief: Bold, Local, Real
They wanted something with brickwork, alleyways, and maybe even a pub backdrop, because why not? We wanted to give them a set of Spotify-ready band photos and press kit visuals that felt authentic, unpolished, and unmistakably “them.”
The shoot took place around some of Tunbridge Wells’ most textured, character-filled locations. We played with light and shadow, leaned into the grit of the alleyways, and captured a raw, confident energy that matched their new direction perfectly.
Why Band Photography is About More Than a Promo Shot
Your music isn’t generic, your photos shouldn’t be either.
Whether you’re recording your first EP, updating your Spotify profile, or preparing a press kit for radio or playlist submissions, brand-consistent imagery matters more than ever.
• It tells your audience what kind of band you are
• It gives promoters and playlist curators something to work with
• And it sets the tone before anyone even hears a note
This shoot with Kharma and the Devil was one of my favourites so far, and if you’re a band in Kent, Sussex or London looking for branding or promo photography, I’d love to help you craft something equally powerful.
