Case Study - Artist Alison Berry
Being a personal brand crosses over into every profession and every business. And as a brand photographer its my aim to convey what you or your organisation does visually, whether that's to use on your website, social media marketing or printed collateral. For artist Alison Berry, this meant having images that she could use for upcoming exhibitions, to tell her story.
A couple of weeks ago I popped across to Alison's studio to take some photos of her at work. For these images I wanted something that was less styled and instead opted for a more fly on the wall set of images that showed her in her happy place.
I was so pleased that the sun was shining, as the images I had in my mind where to combine the sunlight and the shadows to create a set of images that were as unique as Alison and her artwork.
Alison has been an artist for over 30 years, and as well as being part of local and international exhibitions, she also holds workshops teaching others how to master the art.
She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the history of art and is wonderful at passing on her passion to others. Alison also holds private workshops where she is invited into your home, brings all the easels, canvases, charcoals and paints needed, and along with the accompaniment of music she encourages her pupils to feel as well as create the art.
I had the pleasure of attending one of these workshops myself a couple of years ago. At the time I thought I had created a masterpiece, but in the cold light of day, once the paint had dried, I saw it for what it was......a mess!
